It could possibly be a conflict with another plugin, but disabling yours stopped WP from carping about an error in the SQL generated to insert a previously-edited but not published post. There may have been other use cases broken, but my goal was resolution rather than bug hunting. Are you guys still maintaining this? Thanks. FYI, as of WP 2.1.3 this now breaks posting.
